Suburban with a tailgate elect. problem

Hi - just bought this '73 and the tail gate window will operate from inside switch, but not from the key switch at the tailgate. I have not removed the panel but am thinking this is a connection problem probably at the key. Anyone have experience with this issue?

Years ago ( when hair was blonde ) I had a 78 Jimmy and it had the same problem. If I remember that far back, I had it apart and did some cleaning and it worked again. Now I'm only going on memory but I don't remember replacing any parts.
