    You must be a pretty young guy! Chevy used gaskets on exhaust manifolds for many years. Wasn't until the late 70's or 80's when they stopped putting gaskets on exhaust manifolds.

    For headers, I always use the stock type exhaust manifold metallic gaskets. Never had leakage issues once I started using these style gaskets.
